About Discs of Steel

The idea for Discs of Steel came from playing classics like the “Asteroids” arcade and the “Super Cars” Commodore Amiga games. I thought it would be nice, to use some mechanics of those games, to create a multiplayer game in a more of an air hockey setting. An old school console vibe combined with a bit of “Tron” was what I had in mind.

So there you have it; three very different game modes, all using those tank controls with an 80s action movie cheesiness name to it. Because what could be more fitting for a game featuring jet driven things like bal… ahem discs of steel?

About Me

I´m a video games enthusiast from Germany, born in 1974. I’ve been lucky enough to experience all the greatness and wonders of video games first hand, when the industry first began to take form and everything was brand new and exciting. From that experience, my intention is simply to make unusual games that have a retro feel. Bringing some of the magic back, so to speak. And yes I admit it; I’m totally in love with pixel art and minimalistic graphics and always will be. So, out of nostalgia as well as to show that games don´t need to look high-end to be entertaining, I want my games to have a distinctive look that may go strongly against current graphic trends. Some may get the intention and like it and a lot won´t, but I guess that´s a price I have to pay. I want my players to have that unique, nostalgic feeling of playing games on the couch with their friends and maybe sharing pizza. Because that is what gaming should be about in my opinion; having great experiences and, ideally, sharing them with friends.

Game Modes

Three game modes: Arena, Race, Battle

Arena

Aim
-	The aim of this game is to use your discs to push the puck into the goals of your opponent(s).
